Come join us for the Friday night party on May 5th, hosted by Nico and Gasper, the two beluga whales rescued by one of the Aquarium's research programs. The belugas, as well as their other
cold water friends (including sea lions, leafy sea dragons, penguins and more) will join us in the Cold Water exhibit at the Aquarium Friday night. The night is structured as a "date"
night for couples, but a number of people will be there on their own accord to join in the socializing and "drinking martinis with the belugas."
Check out more about the Cold Water Quest at the Georgia Aquarium.
The conference itself will be focused on preservation and education, but the Friday night speaker will be a bit more general. Dr. Rusty Brainard from the Census for Marine Life will be giving a 45 min to 1 hour talk on new life found in oceans around the world. We've structured the Friday night program for couples, both in the layout and registration. If your significant other doesn't normally want to join in your aquarium hobby, or even if you and your date are not aquarium enthusiasts, this night will still be great for couples to join in.
The schedule for Friday night is as follows:
- The night will start in the Georgia Aquarium Education Loop.
- At 6:30, we will open registration and have a reception on the balcony overlooking the Atrium with a pianist, catering by Wolfgang Puck, and a cash bar.
- At 8:00, we move into the Deepo Theater to be educated and entertained by Dr. Rusty Brainard of the Census for Marine Life.
- From 9:00 to 11:00, we move into the Cold Water Gallery for a private party - Calypso Drummer and all! Wear your Island Wear! There will be a cash bar and dessert with the Beluga whales.
Register below for just the Friday night party. We'll see you on the 5th!
